Empty yourself of everything.
Let the mind rest in peace.
The ten thousand things rise and fall while the Self watches their return.
They grow and flourish and then return to the source.
Returning to the source is stillness, which is the way of nature.
The way of nature is unchanging.
Knowing constancy is insight.
Not knowing constancy leads to disaster.
Knowing constancy, the mind is open.
With an open mind, you will be openhearted.
Being openhearted, you will act royally.
Being royal, you will attain the divine.
Being divine, you will be at one with the Tao.
Being at one with the Tao is eternal.
And though the body dies, the Tao will never pass away.

(Lau Tzu, Tao Teh Ching)

Wuxi Meditation - The Tao of Golden Light

The Tao of Golden Light is an original way of Zen Meditation (Chan in Chinese). The focus is to find the centre of the mind, the place where all thought originates. Both Buddha Sakyamuni and Padmasambhava spoke of the Golden Light that can be found in this area.

Meditation at the centre of the mind can help to change negative thought patterns, maintain and improve health, and lead to the re-awakening of latent functions, such as healing abilities.

Today, the teaching and practise of meditation often omits the fundimental elements of correct body posture and breathing. This particularly the case when meditation is thought of mainly as a way of relaxation.

Wuxi meditation, based on the original principles of the Tao of the Golden Light, emphasises the need for the correction of body posture and breathing exercises in order to cleanse the internal organs and meridians.

In Wuxi Meditation, the basic principles of body posture and breathing have to be established in order for there to be clarity of mind. Through this clarity, the centre of the mind can be found. Finding the centre of the mind can bring true stillness and inner peace, which as a result has a balancing effect on the nervous system.

Through practise it is possible to see the Golden Light, so opening the door to spiritual development.
